What is "Amacha"?

Amacha is a totally different plant from Gynostemma (Amachazul).
Amacha is a shrub tree of about 80 centimeters that looks similar to the Bergenia family member hydrangea; Gynostemma (Amachazul) is a perennial plant of the cucurbit family.
The refined sweetness comes out after rolling, fermentation and drying of the leaves.
The active ingredient, phyllodulcin of Amacha has attracted attention as a super low calorie natural sweetener that tastes 200 times sweeter than sugar.

Amacha has been planted in garden as sweeteners and medicinal herbs, adding sweetness to pickles, as a sweetener to suppress oxidation, or used as a tea for health.

Various uses of sweet tea

< Sweets and food sweeteners >
Because of the growing health-conscious, the intake of sugar is shunned.
On the other hand, the current confectionery and soft drinks often contain lots of sugar in them.

The sweetness of Amacha is not carbohydrate, and Amacha has become a substitue for sugar.

< As a blend material such as herbal teas >
Kunohe Village's Amacha is now exported to Europe.
It is enjoyed, blended with tea, green tea, and coffee.

< As materials such as cosmetics and soaps >
We pours Amacha into the statue of Buddha in The Buddhist Festival held on April 8. It is traditionally believed that the skin effect of the old-sweet tea was known. Soaps and cosmetics are also available.
